My first Hula Intensive on Big Island, March 2006

As soon as I arrived at the airport, I felt something powerful and something so different from anywhere else. I still don't know how I can describe...

Pele. Thank you for having me in your land.
My first Aloha Air! The airport is very nice.
The driveway to Kumu's house "Kahalelehua"
Kahalelehua. Big place!
This is where we practiced. I just like to be there.
Kumu's budda with leis.
Open air dining room on the balcony.
View from Kahalelehua. You can see Pele from here.
Nicole and I shared this room.
I really wanted to see this flower.
Kumu took us to the Volcano park.
Steam everywhere.
You can feel the earth alive.
Volcanic craters.
I always like these trees.
Nicole and Romana.
I want to take them home!
5 for $1? At Hilo Farmer's market.
Beautiful color.
Leis are made and sold there.
I like to stand beneath those trees.
Flowers everywhere!
Susan bought strawberries for us. Thank you, Susan!
Nicole
Romana and Lois.
More beautiful flowers!
Chocolate factory in Hilo.
Practice...
...makes perfect.
I was so happy to meet everyone.
Kumu
...I have no word for this.
Jeane, Susan, Nicole, Earl and Lois.
Rainbow fall.
Me.
Finally, I could come to see Akaka fall.
So beautiful.
I really had to come to this place. Did you know that, Kumu?
Can you see something there? I could.
So relaxing.
Kumu, Earl and Susan.
Nicole.
The kitchen window!
My first Hawaiian local food.
Friends of Kumu enjoying our last night together.
Thank you everyone! I'll see you again soon!
