A Doctor told me that while he was in a hospital dying of bone cancer, he would spend his days listening to my song, Kawailehua." He told me that he truly believes that the song cured him of his cancer and today he is alive and well. He also told me that he felt that the song contained a formula for healing energies that allowed for his healing to take place.
This formula I believe is based on the number 8. Allow me to explain. Eight is the foundation to the kaholo step or the foundation step to the hula. The hula and the number eight is the foundation number for my poetry and my music.
In the song, "Kawailehua," there are four verses each with a total of 16 counts. The sum of the four verses is 64. There is a kaholo step of 8 counts between each verse. The sum of the four kaholo is 32. The sum then of the 4 verses (64) and the kaholo between each verse (32) is 96. There are twelve sets of 8 in 96 and in all music there are just 12 notes.
From this formula of eight's and 96 beads I have created a, "Kawailehua Healing Hula Necklace." There is one exception and that is, I have added a center bead that represents the "Akua," or the God Bead which now makes the sum 97 beads. It represents spirituality and that all healing and all energies come from God. God has inspired my poetry and my musical compositions. Spirituality is a great part of the Hawai'ian Culture and its people. The total of 9 and 7 is 16 which when divided by two is 8.
Over the past 20 years I have been making my necklaces with aloha and a prayer. To many it has brought healing as well as balance and well being. To others it has brought good luck, focus as well as guidance and protection. Wear one and be blessed by its power and its effect on your everyday life.
Eight is the number of perfection and the infinite being, God. It is the number of the balance of the cosmic order and expresses the totality of the universe. Eight symbolizes multiplicity and is associated with prosperity.
