This is a song that I composed for my hapa-Kepanï granddaughter that was born in October of 2002. We call her Sakurako and I would sing this song to her as a lullabye to put her to sleep. The last two verses were added on only after doing this song as a finale at a concert in Japan.
Sakura, sakura
Hana hubuki, sakura
Lehua, lehua
Hawaii no hana yo, lehua
Kaeru, kaeru
Watshi wa anata ni, kaeru
Haruyo, haruyo
Koi mo hana mo, haruyo
Kobe wa, Kobe wa
Hana zakari daiyo, Kobe wa
Wassurenai, wassurenai
Konno kimochi wo, wassurenai
Arigatou, arigatiou
Nihon no mina sama, mahalo
Mata ai masho, mata ai masho
E ke kumu sayonara, a hui hou
